About Us
Botlek Stores is a department store for crewmembers from all the ships visiting Rotterdam and its surrounding harbours. They get free transport from ship to shop and back again and can do their shopping, most of it Tax-Free. Furthermore we offer a broad range of services that are highly appreciated and frequently used.

History
The history of Botlek Stores starts in the late fifties of the last century. This is when the Rotterdam Harbour Authorities began developing plans for expanding the harbour westward in the direction of the sea. When the first ships started to arrive in the Botlek harbour in 1960 we were there to welcome the first seamen-customers (see picture). The ships were a lot smaller then and so was Botlek Stores. Our growth since then went hand in hand with the growth of the harbour. Now, more than half a century later, seamen from all over the world know there is only one place to go when in Rotterdam, and that is Botlek Stores.
Profile
In the vast harbour of Rotterdam, Botlek Stores operates from two locations:
Botlek Stores BOTLEK, which provides free transport for all seamen from ships that are mooring east of Europoort and as far as Moerdijk.
Occasionally even ships as fas as Antwerp or Amsterdam will be visited, depending on traffic conditions and/or time of the day.
Botlek Stores EUROPOORT, which concentrates it's activities solely on the Europoort and Maasvlakte area.
Both shops offer exactly the same goods and services at exactly the same prices.
As a rule customers can buy only in our shops. On occasion an exception can be made given enough time. Priority is always given to visiting customers.
