Dutch Doll - Boy
Porcelain doll man in red / black Volendam costume and clogs. In gift box. This porcelain doll represents the traditional dress in Holland. Traditional costumes were found in the isolated communities around the fisher villages around the IJselmeer (former Zuider zee) and along along the North Sea coast, where the people had a common profession or religion. The flourishing period was in the 19th Century. The traditional costumes can still be found in Volendam, Marken, Spakenburg, Urk or Hindelopen. This is a collectors doll. The costume is a true copy of the original costume.
